Sruleen Sacred Hearts NS in Dublin 22 had a unique approach to encouraging a “Maths Eye” among students. Their initiative, “Maths Eyes at Play,” used everyday toys and items such as marbles, squishies, and pasta to teach children about maths in a fun and engaging way.
One student described their project saying, “My friends, my cousins and my sister always play together and I decided to use the things we play with most to encourage a maths eye.” The project not only helped the students learn about maths but also helped them develop their creativity by creating “Maths Eye” pictures.
Another student shared, “My favourite part of doing this project was creating the Maths Eye pictures and taking the pictures.” The project showed that learning maths can be fun and incorporated into everyday life.
